AV Awards 2018 – Corporate Event Services Ltd (Corporate Events)
For two decades, the AV Awards have recognised the best in the AV (audio visual) industry. In 2018, the awards celebrated it’s 20th anniversary, so it was only fitting that the event be bursting with audio visual splendour – innovative yet with a nod to the magazine’s heritage.
AV Magazine turned to Corporate Events to create event concepts based on the awards’ unique and vibrant branding which featured brightly coloured illustrations of cogs, tech products, circus ringmaster and steampunk host Gizmo, a character created specifically for the event.
Video played a starring role in the show and was enhanced further by the immersive theming created on the set which was accentuated with cogs and metallic pipes. Corporate Events’ in-house studio team created all content for the AV Awards sting shown during the event’s grand opening and throughout the awards presentation, inspired by the awards branding and 20th anniversary celebrations.
Being the AV awards, it was important that the awards represented innovation in the industry, so a selection of creative agencies and production technology innovators were invited to share their ideas – the most unique, impressive and on-theme suggestions included cake projection mapping and a fully functioning technology suit.
CRN Channel Awards – Incisive Media
The CRN Channel Awards is one of the biggest technology awards in the UK, attracting over 1,500 people to celebrate success in the UK channel IT industry. The biggest of its kind and with 250 submitted entries, the Channel Awards is only one of the largest gathering of channel executives across the UK, but also the biggest event that CRN publisher Incisive Media organises. 2018 was the 25th year of the CRN Channel Awards and for our fun loving audience only one theme for the awards would do… the 90s!
Dynamites 18 – Dynamo North East
The top talent in the North East’s IT and technology sector is celebrated at the annual Dynamites awards. This is a major event in the region’s IT calendar with almost 500 guests filling the prestigious Banqueting Suite at Newcastle Civic Centre. BeaconHouse Events have been hosting this event on behalf of Dynamo North East since 2014. In keeping with the audience, the judging process is suitably innovative, allowing for online scoring in advance of a more traditional judging meeting, and reacting to current trends, the committee was made up of all female members. Introduction of a ‘People’s Choice’ Award put the power in the hands of the regional community, with a hugely popular online vote. The production on the evening wowed guests with innovative use of portrait screens and laughter ensued with a spoof video with audio from Robson Green. The host spent part of the evening in speedos (but more of that later!). By all measures the event was a resounding success, with record nominations, sell out tickets, and exceeding sponsorship targets, with key partners such as BT and tombola to ensure the event made a surplus, resulting in fantastic feedback from guests, nominees, winners, sponsors and the client.
Network Computing Awards – BTC Ltd
The awards, which first took place in 2007, were set up to recognise the most impressive network-related solutions. The awards are free of charge to enter and open to all. Rather than using a judge or judging panel to decide everything, the organisers created and use an online nominating and voting system to determine the finalists and winners in almost all of the categories. This promotes active participation from contenders and end users. The results also provider valuable intelligence for the organisers an the contenders.
New Civil Engineer TechFest Awards 2019 – Emap
The New Civil Engineer TechFest Awards recognise and reward those projects, teams and companies doing most to harness technologies that drive the construction industry forward. Taking place as part of the Festival of Innovation, this one-day event is a thought provoking, immersive gathering designed to stimulate the brightest minds in civil engineering. The awards were conceived after having launched our very first Future Technology Forum in 2015. After two years of just a standalone conference, the Festival of Innovation & Technology was born; a 24 hour event culminating in an awards ceremony for over 350 attendees. Whilst it had been important to inspire and excite the industry with what future advances were on the horizon, New Civil Engineer recognised the need to celebrate what was being achieved now, giving companies lots of lessons to take back to their organisations.
